How old you need to be at Tonybet, and why the answer changes with your province
Canada has no single gambling age. Each province picks its own, and Tonybet follows yours.
In Ontario you play on tonybet.ca, the site listed in the iGaming Ontario directory of regulated operators. Sign-up asks you to certify that you are over 19.
Outside Ontario, Tonybet operates under a permit listed on the Kahnawake Gaming Commission register. Its terms ask for two things: you are at least 18, and you are of legal gambling age where you live. The second one decides. A student in Winnipeg or Montreal can sign up at 18; a player in Vancouver or Halifax waits until 19.
Alberta has its own set-up since its regulated market opened on 13 July 2026: a separate site, tonybetalberta.ca, and an app, both licensed by the AGLC, with the age set at 18.

The rule follows your home province, so an 18-year-old moving from Quebec to Ontario would need to turn 19 before playing again. The Ontario app also expects you to be inside Ontario while you play.
